Library Tech Talk Blog’s About Page and Policies

After our next meeting, the Library Tech Talk bloggers are going to meet and discuss Library Tech Talk Blog’s About page and our blogging policy.  The resulting document will be submitted to MCLC CE Committee, which sponsors this IG, for approval.

To kick off our discussion, here are three examples of blog policies for blogs serving different purposes — professional library association blogs, academic institution blogs and public library blogs:

LITA Blog Policies and Procedures
Draft Blog Guidelines (by Karen Schneider for Florida State University)
Newton Free Library Blog Policy

Currently we only posted the objectives of this IG on the About page.  What do you think should be included there?  Would you like to see our name be something else (Too many “TechTalk‘s!”)?   What do you think should the mission of the Library Tech Talk IG be?  The mission of the blog?  What policies and procedures should be included in the Library Tech Talk blog policies?

You are welcome to stay after our regular meeting and join us for the discussion or comment here to give us your thoughts.

  1. Library Tech Talk Blog’s About Page and Policies

  2. Roseline, good idea. I think as we go forward and have more meetings we’ll know more about what our participants think of this blog and if TechTalk is helping us to reach Library 2.0, or if it’s just more noise in the Library 1.0 system.

  3. m.. very nice
